Firefighter gives fish to girl who lost pets in fire - PORT CHARLOTTE -- Kaliska Hamouda-Schreier was very upset when she learned that her beloved fish were dead. The 5-year-old loved them all, and had a special bond with one of them.

"He was my best friend," said the talkative little blonde, who waited with her mother, Sandra Hamouda-Schreier; sister, Mahina, 1; and dog, Bacci, while Charlotte County firefighters cleaned up water and fanned smoke out of her house at 21245 Coachman Ave. in Port Charlotte.

This was a cool story. I once had a fire destroy a business I serviced a saltwater aquarium for. The aquarium here survived as I had installed an auto-battery back up pump.
